Terms of Service

1. Description of Service

VersaFile provides browser-based PDF tools and a cloud API for PDF processing and AI document extraction. Browser tools are provided free of charge, without account requirements. Cloud API features require a paid subscription.

2. Acceptable Use

You may use the Service only for lawful purposes. You may not:

• Use the Service to process illegal, fraudulent, or infringing content
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the API in a way that degrades service for others
• Share, resell, or sublicense API credentials without prior written permission
• Circumvent rate limits or attempt to bypass authentication
• Use the Service to generate or distribute spam, malware, or phishing materials

3. Accounts and API Keys

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and API keys. You are liable for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@versafile.app if you suspect unauthorized access.

4. Payments and Credits

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance via Stripe. Credits are allocated per plan and reset at the start of each billing cycle (monthly plans) or used as one-time allocations (trial). Unused credits do not roll over. All charges are non-refundable except where required by applicable law or as specified in our refund policy.

5. Data and Privacy

Browser tools process your files entirely on your device and no data is transmitted. Cloud API requests process files in-memory and do not persist file contents. Usage metadata (endpoint, credits, timestamp) is retained for billing and support purposes. See our Privacy Model for full details.

6. Intellectual Property

All content, code, and intellectual property of the Service is owned by or licensed to VersaFile. You retain full ownership of any documents you process. We make no claim to content you submit through the Service.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY OUTPUT WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS. AI-GENERATED OUTPUTS MAY CONTAIN INACCURACIES AND SHOULD BE VERIFIED BEFORE RELIANCE.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, VERSAFILE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

9. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms, with or without notice. You may cancel your account at any time from your dashboard. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be notified via email for active subscribers. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.
